How to apply silk plaster?

The use of silk plaster is quite straightforward. It can be managed by anyone with no prior experience. You’ll need a plastic paint roller and no other tools. You must first prepare the surface before starting to apply the coat. If the wall’s structure is uneven, it may have fragments of old wallpaper, cement, old painting, plaster, wood screws and hooks on the surface. These remains can release in the form of rusted and yellow spots on the surface because silk plaster is mixed with the water. So you have to take care of that before applying.

The surface must be dry, clean, and completely white, free of spots. You have to discard any old wallpaper, screws, and other debris. If required, you can apply antiseptic to the fungus-affected areas, clean dust, and dry the wall. You can paint bolts, hooks, pins, studs, and other metals with oil-based paint to avoid corrosion. Prepare the surface with plaster and apply the natural silk plaster primer in 2-3 applications. And let the coat dry for 3-4 hours. You can use any waterproof primer or waterproof base paint in the complete lack of the original silk plaster primer. Kindly contact a vendor in your area to choose the appropriate primer selection.
